FAQs

A form of medicine that puts the patient at the center of the care process. It addresses the full range of physical, emotional, and environmental factors that affect a person’s health and healing.

Integrative Medicine combines Western and Eastern Medicine practices using evidence-based, non-invasive interventions.
We’ll discuss your child’s current challenges and your main concerns. I’ll ask about their behaviors, emotional responses, and any patterns you’ve noticed.

This will help me understand your child’s unique situation and tailor an approach that fits your family’s needs. We’ll discuss scheduling options so that we can begin helping your child right away.

Your involvement is crucial for success. As a parent, you play a vital role in implementing the strategies and tools we discuss. I will guide you on how to best support your child and create a positive environment at home. Together, we will work as a team to achieve the best outcomes for your child.

Every child is different, and the time it takes to see improvements can vary. Some families notice positive changes after a few sessions, while others may take longer. The keys to quicker success are:

* Parent and Child Engagement: Integrative Medicine requires Provider + Parent + Patient involvement. I will be 100% committed, and will expect the same from you to see truly transformational changes in your child.

* Consistent Sessions: Families that schedule their sessions consistently (ex: once per week or twice per month) will see better results more quickly. Having sporadic appointments with an inconsistent cadence will yield poorer and slower results.
Yes! I treat children with sleep issues, digestive concerns, fears and phobias, skin issues such as eczema, headaches, bedwetting, and much more.

Four Pillars is a ‘cash pay’ or ‘direct payment’ clinic. I accept credit cards, debit cards, HSA/FSA, checks, or cash. I deal with you directly, not insurance. This allows me to provide personalized Integrative Medicine in an unrushed setting and to provide services that are not always covered by insurance.

I use my ‘Four Pillars of Health’ framework to help guide my medical practice. When we meet, I frequently identify which of your child’s pillars needs attention, build a treatment plan to address the underlying issue(s), and support you along the way.

Nutrition: Healthy food supports a child’s brain and body development. Diet may be a vital component of your child’s care plan.

Movement: Appropriate types and amounts of movement (exercise) are vital to health. We may assess activity levels and offer movement recommendations.

Sleep: We may assess current sleep habits and discuss sleep hygiene recommendations. The quantity and quality of children’s sleep can help them thrive.

Mood: Can impact all other pillars of health and vice versa. When working together, we may assess a child’s ability to deal with stress (for example) and provide them with tools to better cope.

In many cases, a child’s primary care provider refers them to me. Parents decide what level of collaboration they want me to have with their primary care provider, if any. I’m not a primary care provider, as I provide speciality medical care.

As a licensed Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, I can prescribe medication. However, that’s not my first approach to solving problems. Instead, I look for root causes of health concerns and provide safe, healthy alternatives before prescribing medication.

As part of the treatment plan, I may recommend supplements tailored to your child’s needs. In that case, you will be set up with an account through a supplement dispensary I work with.

Yes, I have connections through various labs to order blood work and stool testing. I would discuss that option with you if it seemed to be appropriate for your child’s case.
