why we're here

“I started Four Pillars Integrative Pediatrics for several reasons. I love meeting with the children and families I support. It’s a privilege seeing the strength and resilience of the kids I work with as they conquer fears, rid themselves of debilitating symptoms, and find more peace, joy, and ease in their lives.

I have worked in hospitals, and while the work was rewarding, I was bound by the constraints of the large hospital systems. At Four Pillars, I can spend more time with you, without either of us feeling rushed, helping you and your child achieve their health goals. Also, we can consider interventions that may not be offered to you in a large, fast-paced hospital setting.

At Four Pillars, you’re not just a number. You’re an individual with unique goals and health concerns. Here, we work together to create a treatment plan that works best for you and your family.

Thank you for being here today! I feel honored you have chosen to include me in your journey.”

What are the Four Pillars, anyway?

Imagine a building held up by its four load-bearing pillars. It’s clear these pillars are essential to the building’s integrity and well-being. If one of these vital pillars is compromised, extra stress is placed on the others, and before long, the other pillars weaken. With even one damaged pillar, the structure may temporarily stand, but will soon collapse.

Just like a building, our well-being depends on Four Pillars of Health:

Nutrition, Movement, Sleep, & Mood

Kelsey uses her Four Pillars framework to help guide her medical practice. When you meet with her, she will frequently identify which of your child’s pillars needs attention, build a treatment plan to address the underlying issue(s), and be there to support you along the way.

NUTRITION

Food can be healthy, delicious, and fun! Healthy food supports a child's brain and body development. As a part of your child's treatment plan, some foods may be eliminated for a trial period to identify triggers to health concerns.

Movement

Like nutrition, appropriate types and amounts of movement (exercise) are vital to health. When we meet, we may assess activity levels, and offer movement recommendations to support the overall treatment plan.

Sleep

Sleep is vital to one's health. During a visit, we may assess current sleep habits, and discuss sleep hygiene recommendations.
The quantity and quality of children's sleep can help them thrive.

Mood

A child's mood can impact all of the other pillars of health, and vice versa. When working together, we may assess a child's ability to deal with stress (for example), and provide them with tools to better cope.
